How We Help

Hamiltonians accessed food banks and meal program services last month

Operating for over 30 years, Hamilton Food Share is the city’s Emergency Food shipping and receiving hub, and Emergency Food Systems Coordinator for the network of agencies it supports. Providing food resources to 16 member agencies, operating 22 emergency food programs, over 4.6 million pounds of nutritionally rich food is delivered to food banks and hot meal programs, ensuring that people living in poverty have access to healthy good food for themselves and their families.

Every $1 donated provides $5 in food to feed the 17,600 local people who visit Hamilton food banks each month – 6,000 of whom are children.

Hunger Relief Agencies

Over the past year, we have expanded our reach, providing food resources to 16 hunger relief agencies, and operating 22 emergency food programs. The growth of our network has allowed Hamilton Food Share to remain inclusive and reach out to every corner of our city.
