Canadian Pacific (CP) Holiday Train Concert returns to Gage Park in support of Hamilton Food Share
Canadian Pacific (CP) Holiday Train returns to the rails this season on its first continent tour in three years to raise money, food and awareness for local food banks. The train will arrive in Hamilton at 7:45 p.m. on Tues. Nov. 29, 2022 along Lawrence Rd. just south of Gage Park. Canadian country music stars Lindsay Ell and JoJo Mason will headline the show and play a mix of traditional and modern holiday-themed songs to get your family in the spirit of the season. This free, family friendly concert will even include a special appearance from Santa himself!
CP Holiday Train, in partnership with Hamilton Food Share, asks the public to bring cash donations and healthy, non-perishable food donations such as tuna, beans, rice, pasta, cereal and baby food to the event. An amazing group of over 50 volunteers will be onsite to collect donations that will assist 23 emergency food programs (food banks and hot meal programs) in Hamilton.
While waiting for the train to arrive, look for the Hamilton Bulldogs mascot Bruiser and the Hamilton Ti-Cats mascot Stripes, and listen to music presented by 102.9 Bounce, and enjoy free coffee and hot chocolate by Tim Hortons.
To ensure public safety during the CP Holiday Train event, a section of Lawrence Rd. (from Cumberland Ave. to Kensington Ave.) will be closed from 4:30 p.m. to approximately 10:00 p.m. During this road closure, only emergency service vehicles (Police, EMS and Fire) will be allowed access, all other vehicles will be detoured.
Donations collected to assist in filling more than 10,000 Christmas hampers for people in need this holiday season.
If you are unable to attend the event and would like to donate to help feed the 30,000 Hamiltonians that will reach out for vital food supports this holiday season click here
